The Actor’s Charitable Theatre was founded in December of 2008 with a two fold mission: to create a community theatre that allows people of all ages and experience to be involved in high quality theatrical productions and to use theatre as a means of giving back to various other organizations. A portion of the profit from every show is donated to a local charity. A season at The ACT includes a large variety of theatrical events ranging from full scale musicals at The Bama Theatre to smaller, more intimate dinner theatres. The ACT also works to allow young actors a chance to explore their love for theatre through our Youth Series and theatre camps.
Joey founded The ACT in 2008 and has been its artistic director ever since. He has directed numerous shows for The ACT and other community organizations, and also specializes in costume construction and special effects makeup. He was the recipient of the Theatre Artist award at the 2017 Druid Arts Awards.
